During the South East Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) Council Meeting No. 2 (held on July 17, 2026, at the Sunway Resort Hotel in Malaysia), officials finalized the sports program for the 2027 SEA Games. The council approved five additional sports, bringing the final tally to 43 sports.

The newly approved sports are dance sport, ice hockey, kabaddi, padel and teqball.

The decision, made during the second SEAGF council meeting for the 2025-2027 term at the Sunway Resort Hotel, concludes the approval process for the sports programme ahead of Malaysia’s hosting of the Games
