Background of the National Games


The National Games is a multi-sports competition festival in the National level which held every 3 years. The purpose is to promote and develop sport in Lao PDR continually, To encourage people participating sport and doing physical exercise regularly and widely. To promote the mind and body quality, creating healthy life style of citizen, implement the government that “Making Sports popularly and become the social responsibility 

Each edition of the National Games is very significant to boost Nationalism of people, be love new regime republic, confidence to people committed to the National Social-Economic development plan.

The edition of the National Games is also encourage the youth, students, soldiers officials and citizen practicing sports and physical activities more the ever in leisure time. When mostly people are fitted they can contribute themselves to the changing the tasks of National Development properly.

The National Games is also the stage of the selecting young talented athletes to be trained as the national team for participating in Regional, Continental and International Games which is Lao PDR affiliated to them.
